The first season of #lukecage was pretty good - not great, though. It started out quite riveting, with some awesome dialogue and commentary on #harlem #blackculture, but I was a little underwhelmed by the writing by the time it ended. Of course, #rosariodawson was great, but #alfrewoodard was the stand out performance. That scene earlier in the season, when her character #mariahdillard kills her own cousin #cottonmouth, was a masterclass of acting. I've seen Woodard in a handful of other films: #primalfear, #captainamericacivilwar, #beautyshop, and memorably in #firstcontact, but other than being conscious of her presence in #hollywood as a highly-respected actress, I didn't know much about her or her work. Now I'm dying to see more! It has to be mentioned how amazing she looks for a woman in her 60s, too - and how sexy and commanding her voice is! I've got a lot to catch up on with this talented artist.
