“Is this really necessary? My wardrobe isn’t even that bad.” Anthony pouted slightly, not wanting to go into another store and try on more clothes he didn’t really like. “I dress perfectly fine on my own.”

Her hands clapped slowly as she approached the woman, a smug look on her face. “Karma’s a bitch, isn’t it? Serves you right for thinking you could actually win something when it’s my party.”

Leilani spent most of her free time working on the water ring for Mariana. Not only to help her out when water was present, but as a thank you for being nice to her. She found Mariana in the crowd, skipping over to her. “I have something for you,” Leilani said excitedly, taking out the ring from her handbag.

His emotions were running high, coming down from the drugs while trying to keep his intoxication at a certain level. The bar was too lonely, buying a few bottles before showing up at Mariana’s doorstep. He knocked loudly, waiting a bit impatiently for her to answer. Everything with the fire and Lily were pushing him farther to a ledge he wasn’t ready to reach. At least with Mariana, he felt as if he could keep a better level head than sitting by himself at home.

The tension in the office had yet to dissipate, much to Ben’s dismay on the whole situation. No matter how nice he was, or the distance he put between them, things couldn’t fall back into place like when he first came to town. Although, neither of them were the same people anymore. It didn’t stop him from trying his best. Ben sat at the front desk, reading over a few files as he heard the door. His eyes looked up to find her, plastering a genuine smile on his face to greet her. “Good morning, Mariana.”
