Miles had done exactly what he promised, he’d stayed cleaned and given Mariana whatever space she needed. At least physically, he hadn’t stopped talking to her altogether. And now he’d finally earned the chance to hang out with her again, even if it was at this City Hall event. He stepped into the main area, eyes searching the room for the one woman he came here for. A bright smile came across his features as he spotted her, making his way towards her. “You look beautiful, as if there were any doubt about it.”
