Roots Katipunan - Maricare tinted Lip Balm in Brick Red
Another product that we bought in the store is a tinted lip balm of Maricare in the shade of brick red. The lip balm comes in three choices: Peppermint, Hot Pink, and Brick Red. It's just in a simple package with a yellow label and white cap and bottom. The balm costs Php 120.
Ingredients: Beeswax, Camauba Wax, Candadelilla Wax, Sunflower seed oil, flavor oil, and Red mica powder
In the stick it does look like a brick kind of red. The tint when, swatched on the wrist is, pretty vivid for a lip balm. The color looks the same when swatched, but just lighter. The camera might have slightly altered the actual color.
This is before and after I applied the lip balm. As someone who used Burts Bees and Nivea before, which prices are a little bit more expensive than this, I can say that you're paying the price just right.
When applied to bare lips, since mine are usually pale, I actually like how so natural it looks like. It's good for those days when you just "don't feel like it" but do not want to skip on applying balm!
The moisture feel is just right but it's not the same with the brands I mentioned earlier. For the scent, it smells like an old lipstick. Not actually flattering but tolerable since you can't smell it when it's in your lips already. The moisture lasts for more than 4 hours even after eating although the tint fades slightly. But it's not something that can't be fixed right away without a mirror!
