From Alya to Marinette: a friendship necklace and charm bracelet, with a few charms already affixed; an Eiffel tower, a heart, and a pink macaron. She takes one hand in hers and puts the other on her face. "Marinette you are my best friend. I'm sorry for taking lilas word, and not considering anything you wanted when we blindly followed her. I love you Mari, you are my best friend and I would never trade you for anything. Do you forgive me?"

Opening the box from Alya had been difficult only for one reason: Marinette had been dodging and darting away from the Ladyblogger, so it had been nearly impossible to give it.
Marinette did not want to face the impending conversation, the emotions that surfaced because, yes, she cared so much about Alya, but felt so hurt after the events that occurred between her, Alya, and Lila. Friends were supposed to stick with each other, believe each other, and her friend had let her down. Marinette could feel the hurt words rising behind her lips as she looked over the charm, readying to accept it but to walk away for a little while longer.
Marinette wasn’t sure she was ready to face Alya just yet.
Before the girl could thank Alya and turn away, the apology came flowing out of her friend. The dark haired girl stood quiet before her, mouth gaping just slightly in surprise at the rush of feelings that her best friend must have been bottling up, just as much as she was.
Alya knew Marinette better than almost anyone else. It was why they were friends and both of them had been hurting all this time.
A smile finally came to Marinette’s expression as she pulled her hand back from Alya’s grip and instead used it to wrap around the other girl, pulling her into a tight embrace. Fingers brushed through the soft strands as she nestled herself into the crook of her friend’s neck, breathing in deeply for a moment.
She had missed her so much.
“It’s okay, I forgive you, Alya. I was so angry, I’m sorry I didn’t apologize sooner too. We’re best friends, and it’s always going to be that way, promise.”
