I picked up a habit a while ago that I haven’t been able to shake; whenever I read a book, I usually imagine that I’m reading it with my f/os. Sometimes it can help me get through a boring book, a book I never finished, or keeps me interested in school required books. Sometimes I like to think that they’d respond to my stupid comments with their own remarks, or indulge in my observations. I imagine usually that I’m just sitting next to them, or I’m sitting in their lap, or something like that, just holding the book between us. I also like to think that they’d make some sort of non-verbal cue for when it’s okay to turn the page, like them moving to hold my hand so we can turn the page together, or something cheesy like that. Every time I go to the library (which is often) I catch myself looking for books about their canonical interests because I think they’d like it, or a specific genre of book for the same reason. All in all, if you enjoy reading, remember to read to/with your f/os. I’m sure they’d appreciate it <3
