Time & Date: mid-afternoon, a few days after the dinner party Location: grocery store Status: closed for @marinachois
Truth be told, Ari had been distracted lately; ever since the dinner party, sleeping had gotten more difficult, and almost a sense of paranoia seemed to have entered her mind at times. Worried her fiance would find the grimoire, or ask about Genevieve (who showed up suddenly very early one morning), or even catch Ari red-handed as she messed with small spells in her old book. No matter what the discovery would be, she felt it was a matter of time before her insanity was revealed... and she needed to know someone was also feeling as crazy as she.
Ari was distracted, a basket hanging from one arm as she wandered an aisle of produce, having no awareness of her surroundings until she stepped out in front of another woman, rendering a collision impossible to avoid. “Oh, I am so sorry - oh. I know you,” Ari froze for a moment, shocked to see Marina standing there. She’d recognized her from the party; instinctively, Ari’s eyes dropped down to her arms, sure she’d see a burn of some kind. Marina had been right next to Lucretia when the hot blast of hair had nearly scored Ari, too. The sensation was there still, too, lingering on her face like a sunburn. Yet... Marina’s arms were perfectly fine. “How... are you not burnt?”
