We're so excited about the Kimball Village Site's new designation as a National Historic Landmark, we've got another great PM4 artifact feature!
This modified marine shell made it all the way from the coast to the Mill Creek culture village in Plymouth County, Iowa, about 1000 years ago. This shell is a Oliva sayana (lettered olive), which are common along the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic shore from Florida to North Carolina.
