Life in Maris is peaceful, as if nothing could possibly go wrong. Everyone seems happy in this town, except perhaps the restless new arrivals, still trying to figure out what happened to them. But unbeknownst to even the gods watching over this seaside town, there is something dark that lurks just beneath the surface, something that has been waiting, biding its time.
Strange things are happening all over Maris. First it was problems with the electricity, then it was problems with the sea life on the reef, as if they sensed something terrible coming. And then the howls began. Strange, eerie cries rising up from the forest around the town. People were reporting sightings of creatures never seen before, always out of focus, always gone too quickly for anyone to be sure of what they saw.
And then these creatures began to encroach upon the quiet seaside town. People began to turn up missing. And finally, for the first time, the three sibling deities realized something was very wrong with their town. Someone, or something, was taking action. But they simply could not take this attack lying down.
The eldest deity's voice rang across the town, revoking the seal placed on the powers of those from other worlds, a plea for their aid in protecting the town.
Surprise! It’s our first event here in MC! But that’s not all. Though it’s launching as an event, it will officially become part of the plot. So think of it as a story event. Of course, it’s entirely optional and you don’t have to have your muses involved in it at all, but I wanted to shake things up a bit!
With this event, comes a dark force that has been slumbering under the surface of Maris. Is it another deity? Or is it something else entirely? Nonetheless, this force seeks to plunge the town into darkness, to destroy it.
