Sayaka is set to guest appear in an episode of the upcoming drama “No ni Smart Phone ume rareta!”, a drama in which Mariko will star in as part of the regular cast playing Kuriyama Satsuki. She works in the same company the hero of the drama works in. The drama starts airing on July 6th.(This drama was mentioned by AKB48 Daily from here.)
If I’m translating this right, Sayaka’s character’s name is Motoyoshi Karen, who I believe is a worldwide marathon runner and an employee at the same company the main character works for at the same time. She’ll appear in episode 3 on July 20th.
According to an interview, when Mariko first read the script for episode 3 of this drama, Mariko’s first thought after reading Karen’s role was that the character was so much like Sayaka. She even wrote Akimoto Sayaka under Karen’s name in her script. (I can see why Mariko thinks so. After all Sayaka herself participated in marathons.). Obviously Mariko was very surprised when it turns out Sayaka was the one who is chosen to play Karen. XD
It seemed that Sayaka and Mariko really enjoyed the time they had filming together after a long time. Good to see these two again.
Finally I see a work with Sayaka and an AKB48 graduate in drama together. (Though too bad Sayaka’s appearing only in a guest role.) Now the next thing I must see is Sayaka in a project with her shinyuus as regulars.
