Here's how it goes down, we head out on the road, we listen to pop radio because somebody can't find the place where we plug in an mp3 player and we've only brought the mix cd from a 3 year old's birthday party, we hear the best new song, we return, less than a week later one of our djs (in this case Mark E. Moon) drops this in our inbox, we drop it on your face. Should we play this version on nye?

We have a show this Friday (which you would know if you kept up with our stunningly designed brand new shows page of this blog) with the excellent Hallelujah the Hills and the at least sounds excellent on their bandcamp Hilly Eye. Waaaaaaaaayyyyy back a long time ago DJ Mark E. Moon started this remix for HtH maybe with the thought that we could rap over it? At one point our version might have been called something like Pizza Culture, but it never made it out of the practice space and is probably better off the original title, Wave Backwards to Massachusetts, and lyrics by the eloquent Mr. Ryan Walsh. Here it is, dance literally.
Since we haven't posted a remix in about a week I figured now was the time. Mark E. Moon comes through again with the hot Moded remix for Attention (which he himself produced and is actually available for free right here). Sleeking out this speaker buster into something much moodier, this is some speed cut ecstasy shit right here (I apologize).
OUR DJS BETTER THAN ALL THESE BANDS
Mark E. Moon has been making it happen for a while now (seriously, you should have seen the indie rock nerds jizz their vintage suit pants at the indie rock wedding we djed last summer when he put that one on) and consistently peppers us with insane and amazing remix ideas/plots. Sometime last year (after an experiment that yielded this remix) he told us that when we finished recording the vocals he wanted the acapellas because he was going to produce a mixtape based on samples from the mid 90s H.O.R.D.E. Tour bands. We chuckled slightly but knew he wasn't kidding and OH SHIT HE WASN'T. Here are the fruits of his toiling neck deep in mid-90s post-hippy culture, the entirety of Know Tomorrow remixed under the title Twirl, Beautiful Hippy, Twirl. Dedicated to the memory of fat John Popper.
A limited run of actual physical copies of this tape will be available at this month's Holy Calamity which takes place at Zuzu on September 8th (one day after our record release party).
So in case you haven't heard, we are releasing our record on September 6th (party!). Almost as exciting is Mark E. Moon's companion mixtape, Twirl, Beautiful Hippy, Twirl, which will see the ears around the same time. Our DJ's varied palette and masochistic tendencies have produced an entire slate of remixes based on bands from the H.O.R.D.E. tour, here is an example. This remix of his own production, Attention, drops the violin (although I bet dude called it a fiddle) player from DMB into Half Pint's Miami hot tub and won't let him leave till he pledges allegiance to all things bass right up until the best band made up of Seattle music critics arrive to rescue him.
