GK TJ Reigner stops a close in shot by EJ Verhulst with his chest to keep a clean sheet in the win over CBC on September 6, 2016
The Vianney Golden Griffins scored in the 13th minute Tuesday night to open the CBC Tournament. It was either a tap-in by Mark Pelizzaro or an own goal caused by an errant back pass under Pelizzaro’s pressure. Irregardless, it was the only goal given up by CBC in four games this year and the difference in tonight’s match.
Both goalies came up big in this game with TJ Regnier getting his third shutout this season while make several key saves, including the one you can see above that came in the final 10 minutes against EJ Verhulst. On the other end, Cameron Meyer saw his three game shutout string come to and end but critical saves late, including a diving save in the final minute, kept it close for his teammates.
OK, off to be for me. More coming.
