Two weeks on the road have come to an end! We spent our time in California meeting family and friends (some of whom we hadn't seen in a year), driving through beautiful landscape between Los Angeles and San Fransisco, and celebrating three birthdays - Mark's parents and his own. Had an afternoon date with the mother-in-law at Long Beach, California. She suggested we meet at the Queen Mary, a retired ship and one of the most glorious Trans-Atlantic liners of the early 20th century. The ship once functioned as a luxury cruise ship as well as a cargo and passenger ship during the Second World War. If you get a chance, definitely check it out. Along with beautiful vistas of the beach, the walk through the ship is a passage in time.
