Should I have idle time a work, I always make sure to visit site with various deals like @MarkaVIP

When I first heard about the company, I thought, it’s just another online shopping portal same that is coming out in the market nowadays—nothing special.

However, in a short span of time, MarkaVIP was able to set a standard, became one of the best online shopping portal there is in the Middle East and sweep off various consumer awards.

Now, I thought, is the right time to try and see if they can really deliver.

Watching bargains after bargains day after day, alas! A deal that suits my needs. I want some sports shoes for my little girl (not so little anymore, shoe size 36 hello!) they have various from Nike to Puma to Adidas and more!

I got too excited and since I have some Paypal money, I thought, this is the chance to spend the money well.

I ordered two Nike shoes, one for my daughter and one for me. However, after a few days upon clearing the payment and confirming my order, I found out that the shoes I ordered for myself will not be delivered. The company who supply the item was not able to deliver to them. On this cancellation, I did not receive any email notification, though; when I called @MarkaVIP they said that they were trying to contact me over the phone.

As “apology”, they credited my account with $10 that I can use on my next order.

Since the shoes offer is still on, I ordered another 3 shoes, for myself, a gift for my niece and another one for my daughter.

But then again, a few days later, this time with an email notification, 2 of my orders will not go through. Again, the same reason, the supplier cannot deliver the items as advertised on MarkaVIPs website.

This time, I checked my Invoice. They are charging me Shipping and Handling and Cash on Delivery.

You see, customer like me, who’s (always) on a budget, will try to avoid delivery charges by ordering one lot. We know better. If not for tight-budget, smart shoppers like us; internet discount shopping won’t be invented. (right?)

Remembering that I used my Paypal/Store Credit and since the other two items won’t be delivered anyway (COD), then my Paypal/Store credit amount is enough for the only order that went through, and COD charge should be waived.

I called the 800-line to explain this, the call center agent, though not rude, cannot understand my explanation and keeps on talking while I am talking. But I’m not the kind the who steams off to people just like that.

Instead, I looked for another way and tried to explain this through my Twitter (@Ayieeeeeee), which @MarkaVIP acknowledge quickly.

My items came a day after my submission of order number through Twitter and another $10 was credited to my Store credit!

I don’t know if you can call it best service, but I’m happy that they know how to take care of the clients by acknowledging the issues and compensating for it.

The items are legit, on best condition, and as shown on their online catalogue.

(oh yes, I have an experience with another online store—they delivered a bogus item and I did not hear anything from them even though I filed a complaint!—tried to contact the call center number, always busy--WILL NEVER place any order with them again—did I hear somebody said Sugar? Haha!) 

I'm sure they can improve their service and better their commitment and find suppliers that does not cancel! =)

I will surely continue to visit their site for great deals and hopefully will have the best experience to write next time.
