One of the main reasons for visiting South America and in particular Lima was to see the school (Markham College) where my Grandad was headmaster and where my Mum was was born and spent the first few years of her life. After contacting the school we were delighted to be invited along for a private tour! In the school’s library they brought out old yearbooks from the 1950′s and to my surprise there were my Grandad and Grandma smiling out at me! Not only was I able to read my Grandad’s words from over 67 years ago but i also found out he’d received an MBE and the Orden del Sol for his work he did at Markham. It was an emotional experience to say the least!
