The first of my “celebrity” GS interviews, with Cardiff-based, internationally renowned multi-disciplinary artist Mark James, who I interviewed at GS the day we were installing his show. 

A lengthy interview, conducted with little preparation on my part, steered by intuition, its goes some way towards establishing a style for my arts interviews that can travel to various online and off-line venues.

Mark James seeks a re-valuation of art, identifying "authenticism as an absolute" as the base of fine art, with craft becoming secondary to the development of artistic openness. In this expression, Mark has created a body of political art incorporating messages on mysogyney, racism, corruption (govt and corp), religion and sex. Mark utilizes photography, performance and installations to present perspectives outside of the parroting most commonly seen in statement art.

Mark is also the founder of the groundbreaking OPEN arts and community center, curating 30+ internal exhibits and providing artistic residency opportunities to 34 artists over 4 years, encompassing visual and performance art, in addition to curating "Gonzofest" 2016 and various other group shows.

Hey Guys!

As you all know I'm hugely into the Lorien Legacies but did you know I'm actually really good at writing head canons? Well okay the second part of this as you guys know my favorite character is Mark James (I love his character development okay?) but I have head canons for him but also we know his friends names are Kevin,Jackson,Tyler and Max right? Well what if I told you I made head canons for them as well?
