Naruto wasn’t the one to give out any helpful advice, he was the one that usually went to someone for advice. He also wasn’t the one to listen to someone complain because Naruto wasn’t that great of a listener however Madara was a friend of Naruto and despite the blond-haired Uzumaki usually spending time around the Senju compound due to Mito living there, he took time out of his fairly hectic schedule to sit down with the Uchiha Head.

Normally their time together was spent in silence. On some occasions though, Naruto found himself listening to Madara - at times the black-haired male just complained about how his training with Hashirama just didn’t go how he wanted it to because the Senju was called back to his office by Tobirama but sometimes Madara’s talked delved into deeper territory that Naruto wasn’t sure he should step into.

“I just wanted to help.”

Sure enough, half-way through his second sake cup, Madara voiced whatever was bugging him yet Naruto didn’t completely understand where the man was going. Letting out a soft sigh, Naruto placed his cup down and pushed it away, having a feeling that this conversation would need him to be sober and not drunk.

“Care to elaborate on that?” Those five little words of Madara’s could’ve been taken whichever way but Naruto needed the full picture to be able to understand where the Uchiha was going.

He’s not entirely sure how he feels about all this; he had expected Madara to die during the Fourth Shinobi War but the man still appeared to be alive and Naruto just seemed to be crossing paths with the Uchiha that made everyone’s lives a terrifying nightmare.

Naruto still wasn’t over the Fourth Shinobi War but honestly, he has had enough of hating and Madara was at least attempting to do something instead of sitting at home on his ass like some people tended to do after a war. Naruto himself was currently in the middle of his preparation to become the Nanadaime Hokage in a handful of years after Kakashi-sensei decided to step down.

“Do we?”

He has, more or less, came to accept the fact that Madara and he would cross paths every single time that Naruto travelled outside of the village on missions for Konoha. He’s still unsure as to how he feels about it but he has gotten used to having the Uchiha there, at least for a while, until Naruto needed to head back to Konoha to report on the success of his mission or visit.
