Blood on my hands
Your muse has accidentally killed mine. What do they do?
The mission was a simple one, easily done. The four of them would pretend to be guests at a fancy hotel, using what money they could spare between the four of them from previous jobs made it that much easier to do. She would allow one of them to hit her, at least once to draw blood and put on a show for security and they would escort her to a safe location where she would find a way to put the man to sleep and allow entrance to Uri, Wolf and Lex.
A corridor to the vault of a bank was just on the other side of that wall and it was simple enough to gain entrance, and she would open the large steel door for them so that they could collect their riches before any one had the slightest notion that they were there. In and out is what they had said in the beginning but it wasn't that simple, and they were fools to believe it.
An alarm sounded and in a matter of minutes they were on them, coming from all sides, a smoke bomb being tossed in to the center of the hall blinding them from seeing what was going on as shots rang, bouncing off concrete walls, ammo running scarce and she turned, her body hitting something hard and an accidental slip of her finger had her pulling the trigger. Eyes went wide as she caught sight of the man before her, his body sliding down hers to his knees and she dropped with him, the palms of her hands flush against his cheeks and holding his head upright as she stared in to his eyes.
If this had been a time when they had first met it wouldn't have meant much to her, a mistake of friendly fire in the cloud of smoke but now, although she would never have admitted it there was something there, a place in her heart for this man. Tears threatened to spill and she held on, staring in to the speechless mans eyes as they grew dim and his body fell limp beneath her, and all she could do was lean forward, placing a last kiss on his lips and whispering the words "I love you" against them before strong arms wrapped around her mid section and pulled her away from him, the tears that threatened coming undone and she shook with intent on freeing herself to be by his side not wanting him to be alone in his last moments.
Her arm slammed back, elbow meeting jaw with a crack and she flew forward on to her knees again capturing his face in her hands but he was gone, and in that moment her heart shattered.
