Everything was going well until this part. I'm really trying to think it is a joke from Damian just to annoy Dick... It better be...

I want to believe it’s just a joke...but the fact that writers are constantly pushing the idea that he’s not a good detective combined with a few other moments in the story that felt more like the silly ways people here joke about how characters would interact than the way they actually do - the Barbara Kate thing, Jason’s rambling - make me feel like it wasn’t and this is just how King views these characters.
