Rachel and Jake are related on their fathers' sides. Jake's family is tall. Rachel is also tall. This makes it likely that Rachel's dad is also tall. Rachel frequently bemoans that she is too tall to be really good at gymnastics. Rachel's dad nearly made the Olympic gymnastics team. The typical height of a male gymnast is, allegedly, between 5'4" and 5'8". This range would not be considered tall. Therefore Rachel's dad is either an outlier, or, for my more fun low stakes conspiracy theory, he was just exaggerating his gymnastics prowess and Rachel neither knew to disbelieve him nor had Google to use to refute him.
