Hockey Day MN 2014 with Mike Dimond
What an interesting weekend! Lots of surprises were had. On Saturday, I was out at Lake Nokomis for Hockey Day Minnesota. It was fun seeing the Wild Angels do a poly hockey demonstration and a bunch of other hockey players of all sorts out on the ice. I had a great live interview with Marney Gellner from FOX Sports North. She was really nice. We talked about the Plunge and how Mike Dimond has pledged to do ALL 17 Polar Bear Plunges! I think he is a little crazy, but I congratulate him on his efforts.
After my interview I was excited to find out that it was played on FSN AND national TV! I thought that was cool. I also got to meet Mike Dimond in person and dunk him into a dunk tank to initiate the Plunge season and his start of taking all 17 Plunges! When he fell into the dunk tank, water splashed all over and I got soaked! It was a nice day, just a little cold.
This weekend is the first weekend of our Polar Bear Plunges. Come support Special Olympics on Saturday, January 25 and see Mike take the Plunge at both the White Bear Lake and Willmar/Spicer Plunges! If you are interested in Plunging yourself, you can still register and raise your money! You can go to www.plungemn.org or show up at either Plunge site on Saturday morning to register.
Hooray for the start of the 2014 Plunge season!
