okay so 1) this is like 24 hrs late and 2) i haven’t been keeping up with the tag that much these days because of like... life, but here are some of my faves (barring The Big Classics, which you can always find by going to the tag and sorting by hits/kudos/bookmarks):

slophockey by hllangel- truly the funniest thing i’ve ever read 

on sleepless roads the sleepless go by jolt- an “a cinderella story” au, great concept, superb execution.  

if you wanna ménage by anonymous- mitch/auston/matthew tkachuk, one of my all time favorite hockey fandom fics 

If you were a fruit, you'd be a fineapple by CheapLemonIceLolly- an au where ur soulmate has a tattoo with your favorite pizza topping. this series destroyed me emotionally. 

brotherhood of the traveling jorts (there is no traveling) by kingsoftheimpossible- cursed jorts fic that truly had me in tears laughing

Mitch/Auston zookeper au

every time, the cute zookeeper asks auston why he keeps coming back, and every time auston’s forced to think of a new (inane) reason so he doesn’t blurt out “you’re cute and i really want to kiss you”. 

it works, sometimes, most of the time, until auston accidentally says “i think i want to throw a my dog for a birthday party here” and grimaces because that is, quite possibly, the stupidest thing he’s ever said.

but it makes Cute Zookeeper (mitch, his nametag says) laugh, so maybe it isn’t so terrible after all, and maybe one day auston will finally gather up the courage to come clean and ask him out.
