Marquinic fashion being dresses with plunging open backs because Marquinians tattoo the backs of prisoners/ Knights/ etc so it's a status symbol to have an unmarked back and show it off and send post

One of my favourite in-universe hc's is the lore around Haleth's love of spicy food.
Ancient Marquinians, who were known across the realms as necromancers, are naturally quite tolerant and unbothered by spice. After seeing the eating habits of Marquinians in their courts, folk from other provinces noticed, joking that the undead couldn't taste spicy food.
Time passes, necromancy is outlawed, necromancers hunted down, and eventually this joke becomes a widely acknowledged folk tale— you can tell the likes of the undead in your presence by their lack of reaction to spice. Remote Marquinian Inn Keepers make their stews spicy as a way of warding off undead patrons, others grow peppers in their gardens and keep dried peppers on their window ledge.
It was forgotten that true blooded Marquinians are tolerant of spicy food — yet despite the folklore and cultural misconceptions, there is truth to this myth: the undead can't taste spice.
