Regional map for my Mars D&D campaign which will hopefully restart within the next month. The players have so far been to Jezero and Hargraves and are heading south along the coast of the Isidis Basin.
No desert world is complete without giant sand (and ice) worms!

I asked my players guess which art assets were made last minute and the answer was: everything except the maps. did them all the day of the session. But I’m still very happy with how they all turned out!
This session had the players arrive at an underground city, Hargraves, that had the dual problems of an ancient tree (the Vatavayu) causing damaging tremors, and goblins taking over the lower levels of the city that provided heat to everywhere. The players killed some time drinking at a tavern and then immediately took to solving goblin problem. After talking to some kids that befriended a goblin kid, they made it into the goblin-occupied zone and found the goblins had also been affected by the tremors - and a horrifying bogeyman known as the hobgoblin. Then they took to the goblin village and bought the hobgoblin and its minions.
The Hobgoblin fight was SO MUCH FUN. I played the skeleton kids as really bratty (coming up with vicious mockery taunts was the best) and had the hobgoblin lure the players into the shadows and trap them in its shadow webs, then monch on them. Spooped the players a lot and 3 of them were KO’d at various points. One got close to being comepletely devoured.
Hobgoblins have been a kind of in-joke in our group in that they’re two goblins stacked on top of each other. I was glad to turn it into something terrifying :D

Today’s D&D session had the players running around in caves and the ancient (underground) canals of Mars! They fought a Water Bear (p much a bear-sized tardigrade) and joined forced with a lost Goblin Spider-Rider, Teotet’ka. Exploring the canal led them to some ruins where they found some dead people and then fought a magical spectre-generator door. On the other side of the door was a cool map of old-world stuff.
I had a few ice maps here that I allowed the players to slide around on video game like, that was fun. But the door trap was all based on targeting and draining Intelligence and I worry it may have been a little hard. They made it in the end, though!

Mars session 2 part 1! This session was pretty experimental since there was a lot of splitting the party, including two players leaving town while another was in jail and the fourth was trying to bust her out. Jordan and Preese joined the team when shit got real in the last half of the session.
Mars session 2 part 2! Lots of not-orcs attacking, culminating in a big ol’ boss battle against The Mountain. The town is ablaze and peeps are dead but the biggest bad guy is down aaannnnd the first tripod appears. Next session’s gonna be fun :D
I DMed my first session of the Mars campaign today! I was super nervous about it but it went pretty smooth and the players had a good time. ;u; So here’s the arts I did, mostly NPCs to show some of the different races for the setting.
Today we wrapped up the first Mars D&D arc! The tripod War Beast thoroughly fucked up the town while the players fought off remaining Haj and did their damnedest to get civilians out of the city. Shit got really to the wire and I’m glad I could put the fear of death in players without getting a TPK |D
