Mars Uranus North Node Conjunction — August 1st

All Astrologers are watching this conjunction closely as it reveals itself by August 1st of this year. Mars the planet of war, energy, power, strength, determination has joined up with Uranus the planet of change, new ideas, freedom, rebellion, and breaking barriers of limitations. Add to that the directional indicator of the North Node and it seems that this is the turning point for wherever it may land in your chart.

If we are talking about the United States it falls in the 11th solar house. This is the house of groups and organizations. With Mars and Uranus there I worry that a civil war is brewing. The right wing wants to hold onto ‘white America’ as the left is willing to have change and let the minority population rise.

There can also be rebellion about the Federal Legislation on abortion rights. With 70% of the country wanting the legalization of abortion they feel thwarted by the minority and the power of the Supreme Court.

Historically Mars and Uranus in an earth sign means earthquakes but this quake may be more philosophical than literal. It is the quake of the people living by two different ideologies.

Truth will come out of this transit and those who don’t want to see the truth will be damaged by it.

This is the ‘people's transit’. Two different belief systems fighting for control. Ultimately Uranus will win. We are an evolving planet that cannot hold onto the past. Euro-America, White America, and even the dogma of religion is a thing of the past, so we have to figure out a way to move forward without hurting each other.

Hard Mars-Uranus contacts (and I actually put the conjunction into this category) indicate people with incredibly strong powers of assertion and an incredibly strong need to assert. This is fine provided that they have a constructive outlet, project, cause or campaign into which they can channel their assertive or aggressive energy. Mars and Uranus are both animus-type principles; when brought together you have a double hit of “masculine” force and power. The hard angles are going to require work and conscious effort to use rightly and within healthy proportions, otherwise they might exhibit traits associated with a “negative animus”—such as violence or tyrannical, fanatical and autocratic tendencies.
