Casual Yet Intimate interactions [ RUB ]: sender places their hand around the back of receiver's neck, rubbing their thumb just under their ear

Jax sighs to himself and goes to one of the circus' large colorful blocks so he can sit down and mope. They've just gotten out of another adventure, and he didn't have fun this time either.

Another circus member — a sheep — happened to notice, and perhaps against her better judgment, she decides to climb up with him...and start rubbing underneath one of his ears.

At first, the physical contact takes him by surprise. He braces himself for the usual uncomfortable prickling that comes when someone touches him...but it doesn't come.

In fact...it feels kind of nice?

His ears wilt down as he relaxes, allowing Marzipan to keep going for as long as she deems fit.

"Yeah well. Apparently it helps me, too. Who'd've thunk."

Deep down—or maybe not so deep—Jax appreciates Marzipan's moxxie. She's been here long enough to be aware that he doesn't usually like being touched, but she'd gone and done it anyway just to try and help him feel better.

Oh yeah. That's appreciated, too.

A few seconds of silence and ear-rubbing pass...before Jax lifts one of his own gloved hands and begins to gently rub one of her ears in return.

She did say it helps. And the adventure today had been rough. She can probably use it, too.

These guys have been hiding in my sketchbooks and in the back of my head for a while now. Meet the sheep. The marshmallow sheep.
