Training ✛✛ Stan&Butters
Nervous. On edge, maybe? Those seemed to be the words best equipped for describing how he felt. Traitorous was another, though that was much harder a pill to swallow, and he was never really a pro at keeping medicine down.
As he tiptoed through the forest, a sense of dread clung to him like a cloak he couldn't shake off, no matter how hard he tried.
It was a long-fought interpersonal battle, making the decision to come here, making the decision to cross the Elven lines and make his way into the heart of their territory... why, he was a mad man, surely, and any who found him would surely take him prisoner or kill him or maybe both.
He tried not to think about this as he approached the square just outside the elven kingdom, growing a bit queasy and red-faced as he did so. It was best to stick to the outskirts. The cloak he was wearing was pulled over his head, and he sighed as he sank into the shadows, out of the accusing eye of any elf, who he was sure could point him out in any light as the Wizard King's paladin, the human who so brilliantly won them so many battles. He was sure he was safe when he inched toward the Giggling Donkey, smiling at himself, unsure of whether or not to be proud of his sneakiness.
When he was about to reach the entrance, he ran straight into a broad, armored chest and fell back, landing on his ass and wincing loudly. When he looked up, he was both relieved and horrified to see Marshwalker standing--no, towering-- above him, looking a bit dazed but jolly from the drinks Butters supposed he was just having.
He stammered, his mouth opening and closing uselessly, before clamoring to his feet, whimpering as the knight's hand flew to his sword instinctively.
"I-I... uh, well, I come not for trouble, honest! I just came for... for," Butters trailed off, toeing the ground and looking very embarrassed. The reason he'd come was probably the worst thing he could have done, the most shameful thing he could have asked in terms of keeping his low self-esteem and pride in tact.
Battle training.
