Anti-Corporate Pride Takeover on June 27 15-18 at Helsinki Senaatintori

In this summer of rebellion, Corporate Pride has been postponed so on June 27th we will march out to reclaim our place on the street.

   We march against the commodification of our struggle, against the policing of our bodies, our health and our lives, and those of marginalised communities at large.

   We march for the health care of trans people where gender diversity is the norm, not an exception; that is free and available to all, that we have autonomy over. We march against police brutality, against borders, nations and their legalized violence. We call for mutual aid, solidarity and justice.

   We acknowledge that the efforts of LGBTQIA+ liberation are built upon the foundations of bricks and riots, on the activist work of Black trans people. We owe this moment to the most vulnerable in our communities. We march for our trans siblings, for the founding mothers of our insurrection. We march for those who cannot, be they no longer with us, or unable to take to the street. We honor the revolutionary spirit in all, and recognize the many forms struggle and survival take.

   We have seen our siblings struggle globally, and have been heartened by the shows of support for the trans community. We call upon you to join your voice with ours in solidarity for the liberation of all trans lives, and of all marginalised peoples. As the great Martha P. Johnson said amidst the queer liberation and social justice movements in the 60’s, ‘None of us are free until all of us are free’.

   We meet at Senaatintori and get into formation at 3pm. Please note that we start moving as soon as possible at this time. The march is formed of smaller blocks moving after each other to keep safe distance; there will be people coordinating the formations so check with them upon arrival. We will march in blocks to Kansalaistori, where speeches are held - more info of speakers coming soon! . The length of the route is approximately 1,7km and the estimated ending time of the demonstration is 6pm. Accessibility info will also be added here soon.

   Mask up, bring water and disinfectant, keep safe distances. Communicate with your block safety persons and don't leave the demo without a friend. Let's keep each other safe!
