The organization’s mission is to “document American Jews in America’s game,” through multiple series of baseball cards featuring Jewish baseball players. The tagline, “American Jews in America’s Game,” is a powerful expression for Abramowitz for its double meaning. “America’s game is of course baseball, but playing America’s game is also the business of being an American and also figuring out a way to reflect and do justice to the fact that you happen to be born as a Jew. So we all play America’s game, and that is learning how to make it as Americans and learning what to do, if anything, about our ethnicity and religious tradition. Historically, baseball has been the game that has attracted the passion of more Americans in the history of sports.”
