I can’t begin to put into words the rush of feelings felt while standing on the balcony of the #LorraineMotel, performing a poem, where the great #MartinLutherKingJr last stood. When @coodierock & @cozah first told me about the idea I felt honored and humbled for the opportunity to pay homage to one of our heroes, but standing there I couldn’t help but think of all the blood, sweat, and tears that were shed so the following generations could simply have a fair chance at living a quality life. In honor of our heroes, named and unnamed, who have sacrificed their lives and livelihoods we thank you and promise to never forget. We promise to never stop fighting. We promise to do our part so the next will have an even better chance at reaping the benefits of all that’s been done and fought for.
