Nei secoli sono state svariate le attività che si svolgevano durante la vigilia e il giorno stesso della festa: come bruciare l'incenso e farsi il bagno nel fumo per proteggersi dai malagna della stregoneria, accendere una candela, fare delle processioni, ecc.
