Depeche Mode 🌹
WE ARE PARTYING SO FAST LATELY
i just picked up the biggest egg ive ever seen in my life from the henhouse it's the size of my palm and im threading very carefully with it because im afraid if i crack it i might singlehandedly start the apocalypse
Ever find yourself listening to Depeche Mode while doing everyday tasks, when suddenly "A Question of Lust" starts playing, and you start sobbing because it's so beautiful? <3
hi kaz. i read your latest jetpoison fic. might i ask
WHY
/pos ofc
was it recovering the satellites because if so i'm REALLY sorry and marz is only PARTIALLY to blame because i. well. i may have sent them these songs a couple too many times and we both collectively lost it
^ playlist of a man who is sick about Them™
gonna make you think for this one. dr death defying >:)
character songs ask game
ooooooo interesting! okay i'll give it a shot
first of all i think it's all stuff that he'd play on the radio but at different times. like we're not gonna take it is explosive, it's angry, it feels like a fight song, it's that early revolution stages when the fire of it is palpable in the air, you can feel people rallying together, it feels like a revolution
in the meantime, to me, is like. a call to something else. it's more of a 'sit down, wait, we love the all of you, you can stop fighting for a second' it's still upbeat but in the sense that life is not something that has to be used as a weapon you can live it too you can have days where you just exist that you don't fight you don't scream you don't hurt anyone. you can just breathe for a little while. like doc spends all his time on air, bringing sounds to crews of rebels in the desert, and i think this would be a song he can just like. exist to.
champagne supernova is an aftermath to me. maybe its nostalgia cause i grew up with this song but "someday you will find me, caught beneath a landslide, in a champagne supernova in the sky" feels like the last song dr d would play on his radio. i have a theory abt how the zones ends that i might go into later on but i think this is an ending song, its sort of softer, it's kind of a "well we fought and maybe we won maybe we lost but we fought and this is how it ends" kind of ending, its not quite bittersweet, but it doesn't hurt.
so this literally does not matter At All but *I* care and i feel the need to share this with someone so
im editing old chapters rn and i just fucking realized that during ghoul's first meeting with party and kobra, i specifically wrote that the first punch thrown is kobra hitting him on the left side of his face. like i specifically call out the left side which just. at the time was random bc i didnt decide what side his scar was on until like chapter five or six but????? THAT JUST FEELS SO RELEVANT TO ME NOW LIKE. ENTIRELY ON ACCIDENT I MADE KOBRA PUNCH HIM SPECIFICALLY WHERE HIS SCAR IS HE SAW THE SCAR AND KNEW THE STORY AND *CHOSE* TO HIT HIM THERE WGHAT THE FUUUUUUCK
OH MY GODDDDD ACCIDENTAL FORESHADOWING HELLO?????? I MUST'VE REREAD TTID LIKE FOUR TIMES BY NOW AND I DIDN'T CATCH THAT AT ALL HOLY SHIT??
i know u didnt intend this but like. maybe its something to do with kobra's ability to pick out people's weaknesses within seconds, like you mention in chapter 1, he can read people like it's nothing. so obv the scar wouldn't be that hard to spot but like. kobra specifically chose that place to hit him first, knowing it would hurt more, knowing it would slow down ghoul's reaction time and give him and poison longer to gain an upper hand.
its interesting cause that kind of demonstrates kobra's survival instinct, he can be calm and relaxed when he wants to be but his experiences with basically having to fight his way through the zones with poison have built up this natural response in him, to find weakness in anybody and exploit it the second it becomes necessary. which speaks to how he trusts people because now i think of it he's probably also got pois, jet and cherri's weaknesses memorized as well, but maybe he uses that information more to keep them safe rather than hurt them. interesting concept dont you think :P
