IMAGINE: WORKING AT THE LOCAL BODEGA, AND PETER COMING IN EVERY DAY TO BUY THINGS BECAUSE HE HAS A CRUSH ON YOU.
You can’t help but chuckle as you ring up Peter’s purchases at the counter, and you remark, “You sure do eat a lot of chips, huh? These are my favorite flavor, actually.”
“Yeah, they’re the best.” Peter lets out a nervous laugh. In truth, he doesn’t even eat this much junk food on the daily, but he’ll buy something as an excuse to come up to the counter and talk to you. Your family had opened up a little bodega close to Peter’s apartment, and after coming in once, Peter finds himself coming in every day. Digging some change out of the pocket of his hoodie, Peter nervously continues, “Maybe we should get together sometime. And, uh, eat chips together. Or something more exciting. I don’t know.”
Peter resists the urge to cringe at himself as he looks up at your expression, and much to his relief, you simply smile at him. Ripping out Peter’s receipt, you grab a pen and scrawl something on the back before handing it to him, “I like the sound of that. Text me.”
Peter bites back his huge smile as his heart skips excited beats in his chest. He takes the receipt from you, wanting to jump up and down out of happiness. Finally.
