Medium friends
Some people settle for medium friends,
Ones that keep them from feeling lonely,
But not friends that will last through time.
They never really show their true colors to one another,
For in their relationship they only betray the surface of themselves.
In reality their friendship isn’t quite real,
Not in any way that counts,
It’s really rather plastic in a whole.
Bendable, reusable, useful.
I myself admit that such friends are not in a whole bad,
But if that’s all you have then perhaps you should rethink some of your life.
I do not want plastic friends in a whole,
Instead I seek those who are made of much firmer material,
And once I’ve found a friend that’s solid and true,
I intend to hold on to them as long as they will let me.
