truth be told, loki was not prepared for the sudden advancement from the other. steve was flirting and it was working. loki was trying to not show it but his body language is failing him. he has heard many flirt with him but none were as smooth as the other. perhaps its because of when he was born where flirting was romantic. the other surely was making the god speechless.

loki looked up to the soldier, hands gently squeezing his. when was the last time had someone said that to him? the last he heard it, he was just a young child and those words were spoken by his mother. the only person where he felt truly loved and wanted as a child. so to hear it from someone that loki wants to feel safe around; wants to feel secured around, it made him feel vulnerable. like his walls were crumbling down.

"..promise..?" his voice was hush; a sense of weakness finally coming from the god. a sense of hope that the other will do as he says.

loki looked up from the paper he was reading and about to sign when thor came up to him. oh he has jokes. he chuckles "what do they eat, brother?" he waits and he cracked a smile.

"good one." he tilts his head "say brother, what time do ducks get up?" he paused for a moment "at the quack of dawn."
