Bucky Barnes Masterlist
“You don’t have to come, Y/N. I’m not going to put you in the position to chose between me and Tony.” Steve said continuing to pack.
Scoffing you replied crossing your arms over your chest, “Oh please, Steven. If Sam and I don’t go with you, who’s going to save your ass?”
Chuckling he agreed, “Yeah. You’re right.” Letting out a frustrated sigh, “Are you even ready to go on the run?”
A smirk made it’s way onto your face, stepping into the hall, you reached behind the wall pulling your bag showing him. “Already ahead of you buddy.”
“Hurry up!” Sam whisper yelled ahead of you and Steve.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Tony said stepping in front of the group with his arms crossed over his chest.
Silence fell upon the hallway with thick tension. Slowly, Steve and Sam walked around Tony cautiously.
“If you step out that door, you’ve chosen your side.” His voice stern. “Then you consider this relationship over.”
Frowning, you hadn’t thought that Tony would be so angry at you if you decided to back Steve rather than him. Your heart ached as if it was breaking.
“Tony...” You sighed out, as you walked around him, surprising everyone. “Steve is my family.”
Looking out the passenger side window, you couldn’t help but ponder if you had made the right decision.
“It’ll be alright.” Steve tried to reassure, offering a sympathetic smile.
“I hope so.” You weakly smiled back. “Tell me about Bucky.”
Steve’s smile beamed, reaching over intertwining your fingers together. Rubbing your knuckles with his thumb, “He’s a great guy. We fought in World War II together. He’s been there for me my whole life. It’s time to return the favor.”
Sam was fast asleep in the backseat. Listening to Steve talk about his childhood and Bucky seemed to sooth you. Through the years that you’ve known Steve, he didn’t talk about Bucky much to anyone, sitting in the car and listening to him while his eyes lit up, made your heart swell with admiration.
“I got you guys. I’ll be in the sky.” Sam muttered as he disappeared from beside you.
Opening the door, you were saddened by the appearance of Buckys occupied apartment.
“Steve...” You whispered sadly.
“I know.” He shared the same sadness.
Steve stood facing you, when you felt the sudden presence of someone else. Slowly, you looked around Steve as your eyes met a startled pair.
“Steve.” You whispered.
He looked down at you as his face was etched with concern.
“Bucky.” He sounded in disbelief.
“I’ll give you guys a minute.” You stated abruptly leaving the apartment, sitting on the stairs outside.
The sudden sound, of rushing footsteps sounded through the stairwell. Standing up, you looked over the ledge to see men rushing up the stairs to the level that you, Steve and Bucky were on.
Quickly you busted through the door, locking it turning around facing two startled gazes.
“We’ve got company.” You said to both men moving to stand besides Steve.
“Open up!” The man on the other side of the door yelled.
The door burst open, as someone broke through the window taking Steve down in the process.
Suddenly, both men were restrained by the men in black that broke in.
“Get her. She’ll be easy.” The man in charge ordered.
“Don’t touch her!” Steve attempted to yell as the man restraining him had his arm around Steve’s throat.
Suddenly, you were surrounded by men in black. There was a rough hand on your arm turning you around, to face him. Yanking your arm out of his grip, your hand replacing his as you flipped him upside down. Your chest was rising and falling at a rapid pace at the unexpected motion. Taking a matter of minutes, you had taken down the group of five men that had surrounded you. Turning around, you looked at Steve and Bucky, looking at their surprised expressions.
“Did you know she could do that?” Bucky tried to look at Steve.
“No, I didn’t.” Steve said.
“Let them go.” You said looking at the men in black.
“Not a chance sweetheart.”
Growling at the nick name you snarled in response, “Don’t call me that.”
Chuckling he questioned, “What should we call you then?”
“Bucky, duck.” You said, kicking your leg up coming in contact with the man restraining Bucky.
As you took out both men, you whispered, “You can call me agent.”
Bucky and Steve looked at you questionably.
“What?”
“Damn Y/L/N!” Sam said through the earpiece, “That sounded badass!”
Standing in a circle, you were arrested along with the rest of the men. They placed you in the same vehicle as Bucky.
“Why are you here?” He questioned sympathy etched on his expressions.
Frowning you looked at him, “Why wouldn’t I?”
“You don’t know me.”
“I know about you.” You shrugged.
Falling silent he looked at you curiously.
“Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes, in the one hundred and seventh infantry regiment. Prisoner of war. Previously, the Winter Soldier. You have a metal arm but most importantly you’re best friends with Steve.” You quipped. “Did I leave anything out?”
Turning to look at him, his mouth fell open.
“How...How do you...”
Chuckling softly, “Steve talks very fondly about you.”
Frowning he continued, “Aren’t you afraid of me?”
“Why would I be?” You questioned.
“Because of everything I’ve done.”
Offering a soft smile before you could respond, they vehicle stopped signalling the arrival at S.H.I.E.L.D.
