"Five original black and white photographs of George Harrison’s wife Pattie Boyd with her roommate Mary Bee, circa Autumn 1964. The images show Pattie and Mary in their home in Knightsbridge, London with their cat. They were published in a March 1965 issue of 16 Magazine"

“Somehow George had managed to get hold of some marijuana while he was away and had brought it back for us to try. Mary and I were complete beginners so George rolled a joint and told us we had to inhale deeply. We passed it round and round, the three of us, each taking drags. It was quite dark in the room, we were listening to music, chatting away, until all of a sudden we were roaring with laughter and realised we were stoned. Then we decided it would be a good idea to go and visit someone – I can’t remember who or why. Outside one of us bumped into a dustbin and we were laughing again – we just couldn’t stop. Everything seemed hilarious.” Pattie remembers getting stoned with George and Mary Bee. I want to get stoned with George and Mary Bee and Pattie.

“I wasn't much of a cook then either - sometimes, Mary Bee and I would have dinner parties, and had to ring our mothers for instructions. My mother was good for the basic things; Mary's was the one to ring when we attempted more exotic dishes.”🌸🌸🌸

"I remember taking George there for the first time. Mary’s and my little bedroom with twin beds was directly off a tiny square hall. When we came in, Mary was sitting up in bed reading a book and wearing a hat. She didn’t normally wear hats in bed; she didn’t normally wear hats full stop. The poor girl had had no idea I was bringing George home, and when we popped our heads around the bedroom door, I’m not sure which of them got more of a fright. He wasn’t impressed by our choice of music. We played him “My Boy Lollipop” by the Jamaican artist Millie Small, which we both thought was great. He couldn’t believe we liked such an awful song." - Pattie Boyd about her old house on Oakley street.
