When clients need a photo the send me the file number.. Today the number was _E6A0044 - from the State Capital Of Illinois Democratic Party who I have photographed almost 60 of their state representatives races. I did the “Apple F” to find it and of course so many images came up with that same number. I often check them out because it’s always fun to see old work that matches the same file number from previous shoots. Today I added in some of the images that came up but first I need to talk about this woman here #MaryFlowers ! Mary is the state rep in the 31st district of Chicago where she grew up. When she was a little girl she ran after #martinlutherking to protest with him which was interesting to get asked for this image today. Mary’s district is a rough part of Chicago which used to be full of middle class African Americans with swimming pools and happy lives. She then told me it all went down hill when the crack epidemic came in and swept the goodness and safe environment she was raised in. She definitely has her opinions of how it got there...Mary now fights for the people of this community so they have enough child, healthy food and health care. I remember driving around with her listening to her stories.. whooooweeee. Good stuff !
