Unexpected Reunion || Masamunemaster
There was something to be said for a quest coming to an end. Yuna, Paine and herself had spent such a long time together, sphere hunting, that it was almost a shame that they had found what they were ultimately looking for. Or at least, what had interested Yuna into joining up.
She could remember that sphere so vividly, it's like the day they first played it was yesterday. The image of what had appeared to be Tidus, trapped somewhere far away. And he'd always been in the back of their minds as they'd proceeded. She'd always held out hope that he was alive, even with as slim a chance as they had. But a part of her, hidden deep inside, was jealous of that possibility because she knew she would never be so lucky. She would never get to see----- No. She couldn't think about that, or she'd never be able to keep her smile plastered on her face.
Her green swirled green eyes focused on the happy couple, seated off by themselves just a couple feet from the gathering of people. They were clearly wrapped up in each other, focused on making up for all that lost time, all their years of separation. It was sweet. She was happy for them, really. She had missed Tidus, and she'd known what a space his absence had left in her cousin's heart. She could sympathize with the agony she had gone through after they had defeated Sin, because she had lost someone precious to her, too.
Although, no one had known her feelings. She'd kept them inside, hardly knowing them herself until it was too late to admit to them. But she was sure he'd known. He was-- had been-- too clever not to know. She had seen it in the way he'd looked at her sometimes. Maybe he had even felt the same, although neither of them had said a word.
And now it was too late. All the regret in the world couldn't change that. But watching Yuna and Tidus now, just reopened the wound. She'd learnt to deal with how much she missed him, had learnt to shove it all away, but watching the two impossible lovers together destroyed everything she'd worked towards.
Yuna had Tidus back, when most had thought it impossible. Yet Auron... Auron was gone forever.
She turned away before her smile fell crumpled and she broke down. Getting upset now, in front of everyone celebrating, would only serve to ruin everyone else's fun. Rikku had always been the cheerful one, and she couldn't bring herself to be the downer. How could she explain that it was all because of the death of a man who had been dead when she'd met him?
Lulu, her baby in her arms, caught her eye. There was a level of concern in her expression, as though she knew something wasn't quite right but didn't know what it was. Rikku waved, shooting her one of her widest grins to reassure her. She didn't want anyone to worry, but she needed to be alone. She wasn't feeling the celebration, and even in the large crowd, she felt more alone than she had in a long while. Possibly since he'd been sent.
She turned to walk away from the festivities, not stopping until they were a mere buzz of volume in the distance. She was alone now. It felt... right, somehow. She was free to let herself be sad. And so she did.
She wasn't sure how long she drifted by herself, barely aware of her own surroundings. For once, she wasn't a bundle of energy, she was just... exhausted. And empty.
When she tuned in, unsure of what it was that had caught her attention in the first place, she realized she was in a clearing, alone. Though, she didn't really feel alone. Something was... different, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was. That is, until she spotted a familiar object sticking out of the stump of a long-ago cut tree.
Rikku froze, mouth going dry. That sword. She would have recognized it anywhere, even though she hadn't seen it for so long. Shocked, she moved in a haze to the blade. A hand, trembling, raised to touch the hilt. Her movements where hesitant, slow. This had to be some kind of cruel trick. Someone meaning to tear her apart again, remind her that Auron was dead, though his blade had remained behind.
She was too stunned to even cry, as her fingers brushed the pommel, tracing the outline of the hilt.
It feels real, she thought as she knelt, feeling the coolness of the blade. But why is it here? Could this mean------
She dropped the train of thought just as it began, standing abruptly and stepping away so quickly she tripped over her own feet and hit the ground with a hard thump.
"Ow," she said with a whimper.
Thank you Tumblr
Thank you to David, my tumblr staff friend for finally understanding that this account was not in fact guilty of the things that the Tumble bot shut it down for, and that I am back and glad to be so, I have missed you all terribly and will be back to RPing and talking to you all tomorrow ASAP.
"NO!!"
She hadn’t even given it a moment of thought. Her body moved even before she’d had time to process all the facts and make a logical decision one way or the other.
But even as she was struck in his place, a deep wound pouring blood from her torso, she didn’t regret it. She made barely a sound as she fell, and she could feel her life fading away almost as though it were in slow motion.
She wasn’t scared, surprisingly, as she looked up at Auron from the cold ground.
"Whoopsie," she said weakly, trying for humour through the pain. She winced slightly as she tried to push herself up— they needed her, there was still a fight to finish— but she was too weak, too cold, too…. tired.
"S-sorry, Auron…" she whispered as the world began to slip away, fading into darkness. "I…"
But the rest of the sentence died on her lips as she fell motionless, never to move again.
((I am the worst mun in the world I am so sorry! I bailed on both my RP blogs because of school, but when I returned to my Envy blog, I didn't come back to Rikku and I apologize.
I'm going to be making more of an effort to come here.
Extra apologies to Auron-mun because I bailed mid-rp without warning and for that I am truly sorry.))

"Good evening your majesty"
It was a stern and foreign voice that danced into her ears. Lost within the realm of thought, the young Queen had delayed a response. Breaking from her cogitations, Garnet spun around gracefully and set her autumn eyes upon a man with a strict disposition but also a strong appearance. "Evening to you as well, Sir. May I inquire for your name?" Rose colored lips parted and spoke gently but firmly as pools of maple studied the figure before her with wonder and disorientation.”
