Something I have in common with kontextmaschine; not having 3d vision. I am not kidding; holding my index finger up vertically, arm held at full extension, I can count two fingers. They overlap, but are distinct; by default, the arch of the fingernails forms an 'M'. I can exert mental effort to unify the images (it's necessary to type on a phone, so I'm doing it as I type).
I wasn't aware that I lacked persistent 3d vision for a while. I learnt so by watching Avatar, the James Cameron 3D spectacle; I remarked to a friend that the three-dimensionality of the 3d effect in the movie had more depth than reality, and he told me that perhaps I should investigate that.
Someone recommended this in conversation; disregarding the simplistic 'left brain - right brain' mania-depression issue, the 'stickiness' of switching in bipolar disorder seems connected to the binocular vision thing.
Also! I was talking to a cousin yesterday; apparently they have the same thing to a much lesser degree, with slight ghosting if they pay attention to it.
