Hi! I like to check warlock tags a lot (because its like my favorite class and I like to see what sorts of patrons and stuff people make, I'm weird sorry) and I've been seeing your girl Alicia a lot and was curious about her! I like her design and I never really see Fey blade pacts so I was just wondering what she's like and stuff uhh I'll awkwardly scuttle away now haaaa
Oh man, I’m so glad people have taken a liking to her. I will say immediately that she came out of me re-watching Revolutionary girl Utena, and that’s where the Sword/Fey connection came from. Also taking some influences from “The Rose of Versailles” as well.
She’s going to be part of a recorded D&D show, which is yet unnamed, that will be set in Eberron. With the new Eberron supplement out for 5E, my DM decided he wanted to do this. I’ll be posting more details about the show once we finalise stuff. As such, I can’t give you a lowdown on her current adventures, but I can give you some backstory!
Alicia “Ali” Eleanora ir’ Bellerose was a noble in Aundair. Her Father is quiet man known for his love of flowers. Mother is a stern woman known for her strong military mind. She has an older Brother who is set to inherit the estate and vineyard. She was a charming girl who did well in social situations, but ultimately preferred the company of plants to humans. Spent her youth in the garden and learning about her parents vineyard.
When she was old enough, she was sent to the war. Her mother was known as a brilliant military commander, and Ali had a lot to live up to. Between being a noble and her mothers reputation she was escalated to a position of authority she was not prepared to handle. The troops under her command were crippled in a devastating battle. In her grief she called out for help and she heard a voice in her head offering her power. She accepted and odd powers erupted from her. She dealt a blow to the enemy army, but the battle was a decisive failure and her unit had to retreat. Only a few under her command survived, and she was pulled from the battle in a bad state, injured and her body went into shock soon after on all the power that had been bestowed on her. She blamed herself for her failed leadership, and many others did as well.
The powers she awoken to changed her, not just her ability to use magic, but odd freckles appeared on her body that weren’t there before, and her hair and eyes would glow with pink energy when she used her powers or even got too emotional.
After the battle it took some time to recover from her injuries and the shock of the new powers. As she was recovering from the battle, “the mourning” happened. With the war over, she was relieved of duty. She felt empty after that, she failed to prove herself an effective leader, she had no way to avenge the people she failed, and her parents and brother were now attempting to marry her off after the war.
So she devoted herself to discovering more about the strange power that had manifested inside her. She doesn’t know what granted her power or what it wants but she is afraid that it might be something more sinister than she first imagined. The guilt of her actions and mismanagement has made her want to try and do some good in this world. She began traveling around searching for information on what has happened to her, all the while her guilty conscious compelling her to help those in need. It was then that she heard of an Organisation that is investigating strange phenomena and went to seek them out.
We’ll have to see where she goes from there!
