@maskedruler. "Don't be so hard on yourself. For once that thing seemed to actually be working."
❛ Mm, perhaps I’ll allow it. Just this once . ❜ Mamoru’s a thoughtful man.
@maskedruler replied to your post:
Well, that's not true... The love part, I mean.
“So you say... Actions speak louder than words, Mamo-chan.”
“Prove it.”
When @chxmpionofthefuture and I are too IC 🤣🤣🤣

She was exhausted. Yet she was avoiding sleep. Every time she’d gone to sleep before now, when she’d woken up, Mamoru hadn’t been there. Part of her had blocked out what really happened at the airport and she’d gone through her days thinking he was in America and just... too busy to contact her. Thinking about it afterward, it was silly of her to think that. Mamo-chan would never do that to her.
Perhaps it was just what she needed to believe, rather than accepting the truth that she had buried in her mind. Believing he’d just abandoned her was so much easier than believing he was dead. Because at least... At least he was still alive if he’d just left her behind.
It’d been only hours since they’d gotten back. Everything was just as she’d left it when she’d gone to fight Galaxia, but it felt like everything was different. It felt surreal. Had she really done all that? Or was it all a dream? She was afraid to find out.
Because if it was... Mamo-chan would be... She couldn’t face that.
So she avoided it as long as she could, even though Mamoru could clearly see how tired she was and was gently pushing her toward getting rest, she’d refused. Tsukino Usagi was refusing to sleep. It would have been clear to anyone who knew her that something was wrong.
And he knew her so very, very well.
So when she finally did give in under the express and single condition that he go to bed with her, he’d pulled her in close and just held her. It was everything she needed, just to feel him there, to hear him breathe and surround herself with the faint smell of roses and something that was just so uniquely Mamoru that it instantly brought her comfort.
"I’ll still be here when you wake.”
Her breath caught in her throat. He knew. Of course he knew. She felt the prick of tears behind her eyes and shut them tight. She didn’t want to cry right then. She was so tired of crying. Instead, she sniffled, nodded and pulled herself as close to him as humanly possible.
For the first time in ages, she felt like she could relax. And she could sleep peacefully. In his arms. Where she belonged.

Send for your muse to do one of the following to mine.
It had taken some careful planning on her and mama’s behalf to make sure this went off without a hitch. Papa and Shingo were both mercifully out of the house, having gone to visit the new laser tag game center that had just opened up, thanks to mama’s suggestion. So she and mama had all the time to get her ready.
Of course, besides the girls and Luna, her mama was the only one who knew about her date with Mamo-chan. So naturally, her mama had insisted on helping her get ready (”Your friends can help on all your other dates, the first date is mama’s! Because mama says so!”); which was part helping her apply light but flattering makeup, part vetoing any outfit that showed too much cleavage (not that she had many too begin with), and part grilling her about the boy she was going out with. Which was expected, but there was only so much Usagi could really tell her. Telling her mother that he was her reincarnated lover from when she lived on the Moon was out of the question. So, she was answering what she could and what she couldn’t… Well, her mother was chocking her lack of answers up to nervousness for now.
When the doorbell finally rang (right on time, punctual as usual), Usagi was nearly bouncing with excitement and didn’t even give her mother time to get up from the table before she’d zoomed through the house to open the door.
She’d expected to be blindsided by the sight of him, she usually was, no matter how many times she saw him. But the small bouquet of pink peonies that he presented to her (along with the most adorable little blush she’d ever seen) just made the picture he painted even more wonderful.
“Oh, Mamo-chan…” She breathed, taking the bouquet almost reverently. He could have just made up a bouquet of roses by himself. But no, he’d gone and bought her a bouquet. He’d spent money on her when he hadn’t needed to. She looked up at him with shining blue eyes, all the love and gratitude that she’d felt in that moment laid out bare just like that.
“They’re beautiful!” She exclaimed, launching forward and catching him in a patented Tsukino Usagi Bear Hug, babbling about how much she loved the flowers and how he didn’t have to and how it was so nice of him to–
“Usagi!” Her mother’s voice scolded lightly from inside the doorway, causing Usagi to remember where they were and release him. She had the sensibility to feel sheepish, pink tinging her cheeks as she looked at her mother. She saw her mother’s gaze fall to the bouquet in her hand and she immediately forgot the sheepishness as she lifted the bouquet up to show it off to her mother.
“Look at the flowers Mamo-chan got me, Mama! Aren’t they just the loveliest?”
@maskedruler asked: He's here to give her a birthday kiss<3 ..... and to give her a present, of course. Would an entire weekend at a nice spa together be of interest, maybe...?
Birthday Asks!
There’s a delighted gasp as she looks up at him, eyes shining, “Really Mamo-chan?” A whole weekend at a spa with Mamoru... TOGETHER!! Maybe it would be one of those spas at a ryokan!? Maybe it would be by a lake and it would be so romantic--!!! While yes, she would have liked the super pretty dress she had been eying in Shibuya, the prospect of being alone with her boyfriend at a SPA for a whole weekend was SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT!
She couldn’t help but squeal just a bit in excitement, turning to wrap her arms around him adoringly, “I’d love that! Oh, oh do you know which one we’re going to already? Oh, is it Notoya?? Ginzan is so pretty I’ve always wanted to go there with you! If it’s not that’s totally okay too, I know that’s a long trip. But there are also a bunch in Kyoto or Hakone...” She kept going, babbling on in her happiness as she thought of all the spas she’d wanted to go to with him and all the ryokan food they’d eat together.
