Yuichiro tugged the hood of his cloak over his head as he dove into the city bazaar, weaving among the milling crowd swiftly. All around him shop vendors called out to people walking by. The smell of spices and the sound of haggling permeated the muggy open air market. Yuichiro couldn’t help but grin. Finally some freedom from the stuffy palace.

He was tempted to roll his eyes just thinking about Guren and his (half-assed) attempts to make Yuichiro into a proper prince. The king was busy today though, no longer able to avoid one of those boring meetings he hated so much, and without his watchful eye on the crown prince, Yuichiro had slipped away from the palace disguised in the commoner clothing he kept hidden away in a chest beneath his bed.

He loved to roam like this, blending in with the everyday happenings that took place around him, be a part of it. Like this he got to see the city for what it really was-- a disorganized maze of huts and shops and alleyways with children scampering through the streets laughing. 

A minor commotion caught his attention, and Yuichiro followed the sound of clapping and cheering. As he drew closer music joined the mixture of noise as well as the metallic rustle of coins rubbing together. Yuichiro wiggled his way to the front of the crowd to see what was going on and found himself staring at one of the most beautiful dancers he’d ever seen. Long silver hair swished, narrow hips swaying to a steady beat. Yuichiro’s viridian eyes remained wide in his face as he followed their movement.
