Stage Name: Mason
Full Name: Mason Son
Company: DS Media
Age: 21
Fields: Rap and Dance
Training Period: a little over two years
Why did you choose to compete on Idol Project?:
“I felt like now was a good time to try and put my name out there. The public doesn’t really know about me yet so this is my chance to get some recognition. And since Hydra’s only been out for a year I know it’s probably going to be a while before I get to debut.”
What do you feel are your strengths? Weaknesses?:
“Rap is definitely my main strength because that’s where I started out training. Dancing is a close second. I haven’t been dancing as logn as some of the other trainees but I would say I’m at least as good as someone who’s been dancing twice as long as I have. I’m decent enough in the vocal department but I’m not about to be knocking anyone’s socks off there. I can sing if I need to and it sounds okay but my range is kind of pathetic and I can’t do runs to save my life. Otherwise just in general I’m not very good at dealing with stress and pressure yet.”
What are you hoping to accomplish while on the show?:
“I won’t lie and say that I’m just here to make friends. I don’t think I’d believe anyone who said that. So my main goal is making it to the final group but my secondary goal is to improve myself through the competition. Hopefully, I can at least prove to myself and others that when I debut I will be able to handle the stress that comes with it.”
What do you think your biggest challenge will be?:
“I feel like a broken record here but probably just learning to deal with the pressure. And also the cameras in my face. And those are two of the things that I definitely need to learn to deal with if I want to be an idol.”
Do you have anything you’d like to say to your CEO(s) and coaches?:
“I’d just like to thank them for helping me come this far and for encouraging me to put myself out there for this opportunity. And I hope that I can make them proud.”
Any final words?:
“I’ll let my performances speak for themselves.”
