Mason tapped his fingers slightly against the table, watching as Roxy worked on a few math problems he'd given her. He'd been tutoring her for a while now and he'd long since stopped feeling weird about having one of the most popular girls in school in his house. But there was something else on his mind.
He didn't want to interrupt her working, but the words bubbled up in his throat anyway. "So, I was talking to Stacy today. Well, she came to talk to me first. Anyway, I asked her out to the fair on Saturday, and she said yes." The words were supposed to be good, it should have been something he said with a smile, but he frowned, fingers still nervously tapping. As much as he'd tutored Roxy, she'd taught him as well, and this date was the fruits of her labor, but anxiety latched onto him. "If... I mean, what if she tries to kiss me and... And I'm terrible? She's gonna know I'm still a loser. And she's gonna laugh at me and tell everyone..." He could feel the anxiety starting to rise as the scenario kept playing in his head.
