Good gracious, it had been a long day.

Lavender had taken three tests at school today, and she couldn't wait to be picked up from school.

She kept a lookout for Hadley's car, thinking about the faint scent of roses that lingered in there despite him never having air fresheners in there.

Her phone buzzed, and there was a text from Mason:

"Did u already go home?"

She shot him a quick reply:

"Lol no Hadley's not here yet"

"Can I catch a ride w u? Ashley had an emergency at her job and can't get me today. She said it's fine if I go with u"

"Yea u can, Hadley likes u so I think it's all good :p

I'm by the giant tree pls come to meeeeee"

A moment later she caught a glimpse of his Lightning McQueen letterman jacket and waved him over, and he looked so cute as he scurried over to her.

"Lovely, I missed you!!", he greeted with a kiss to her cheek.

"Hey Button, I missed you too!" she replied as she awkwardly hugged him over his backpack. "Oh I think I see Hadley's car, you came just in time."

Lav was now home with Mason in hand, and she made a beeline to her room and flopped on her bed face first.

"Finally, I can relax..."
