Jason sat on a backless, swirly chair and peered through the eye-hole of his reflector telescope. It’d been a while since he’d brought it out and fully used it, but that night he wanted to be more intimate with the stars. Despite the observatory being open to the public during the current hour, visitors were a rarity. When Jason heard the door open he quickly looked to see who it was--but it wasn’t someone he recognized. Perhaps that’s what happened when you locked yourself away in the corner folds of a community--you no longer knew the people who were out there. “Hello,” Jason said to the stranger, always the friendly face.
