let’s put it this way I don’t agree with a lot of the things regarding Natlan
Didn’t agree with the collab with McDonalds
Do not agree with how they treat their VA’s
Do not agree with how extremely stingy they are on all 3 games
And then out of all that:
the community ran me out after I asked them multiple MULTIPLE times to allow space regarding DEI to exist in gamer spaces especially gacha spaces
and then with the recent EN VA slander fest of people sending death threats, threats of doxxing, calling CN fans to get involved, making fun of EN VA’s family members that have died; being bigots towards Corina regarding their disabilities, extremely racist towards Candace’s EN VA- on top of how the VA’s handled it all privately vs. publicly - I was called a colonizer because I support VA’s
I still do. Because despite how massively unpopular SAG is I understand why the VA’s are unionizing ans I understand why unions exist
but saying that in the genshin community is liable to get you hate which is what I faced for DAYS. It got to a point they were badgering me non stop. And funnily ppl wanted me out of the community which I was already out cuz of the racism and bigotry and hate towards fans that wanted/demanded better from HYV regarding natlan and its glaring issues uhhh…
anyway I just made one long very angry thread and officially cut the community off. I only now read fics and retained the merchandise I’ve bought.
I love the game very much it’s very hard to walk away from it but the community itself - made it easier in ways. Can’t fully disengage until you got people calling you a colonizer over supporting unions and unionizers and saying you don’t belong because you believe diversity should exist in all games down to gacha ones.
So while I’m not against chatting with anyone that is a genshin fan I am no longer actively involved with them and no longer wish to have ties to the community as a whole. Which is hard cuz now I’m hearing Dish (Genshin CC) is planting herself in Infinity Nikki which great 🤦🏾♀️ so yeah I’m very anti-genshin anti-HYV right now.
