woke up in time to catch the Roller Derby Championship finals. i almost never pay any attention to sports, but... roller derby is ... something else. i have friends who play and coach and are heavily involved with it. and i get really into it for some reason. even though i've never been terribly interested in sports. (growing up in new england with a father obsessed with the Packers was interesting. i've never particularly cared for any of the normal sports. the occasional soccer game. that's really about it.)
anyways. the game was good. Gotham (NYC) won the Hydra for the third time. it also proved that Oly (Olympia, WA) flying in players from six different states to compete wasn't worth it. they didn't build their team organically and they paid for it... by losing... for the second year in a row to Gotham.
