To say that Derek was nervous was an understatement, if his hands could get clammy they would be right about now. He had just gotten out of his car, trying to sort out his old ratty leather jacket and his dark jeans, this was definitely not the appropriate outfit to meet a person like this, but this was all he had right now, and he couldn’t afford to spend money on new clothes. His sister was getting worse day by day, and the money he spent on his job just weren’t cutting it anymore, that’s why he had gone to these measures, extreme measures you might say, but he would’ve done anything for Cora. Anything.
He glanced around the place, suddenly doubting the whole situation, knowing these people were the most powerful in town, what would they want with him anyways? He took a deep breath though, it wouldn’t hurt to try. He gathered up some courage and locked the door to his car before he walked over the driveway and up towards the building, he paused for a minute, just to give himself some time to think before he eventually rang the doorbell, his hand shaking as he did.
